What it is
Bey’s Rock Shop Inc. is a family-owned rock, mineral and fossil shop in Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, with its own online store at beysrockshop.com. Its About page says founder James Bey started the business in 1961 after his parents gave him a cabbing machine, and that he later ran a cutting factory with “a 36” diamond saw and a 1,000 pound rock tumbler.” The store moved to Route 100 in 1981. Kelly and Matt Boyer run it with the Bey family. The shop calls itself “one of the largest geode, fossil, and mineral distributors on the East Coast since 1961.”
Who it’s for
Cabbers, tumblers and collectors who want rough by the piece, slabs and finished cabochons from a shop with a long history and a walk-in store in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Why it’s listed
It’s the shop’s own store (WooCommerce) with a working cart at /cart/, product pages with printed prices, and its street address, phone number and hours published on its own Contact page. It is not a marketplace, not Amazon and not an affiliate storefront.

Notes
- Prices on the check date (store data): Agate Slab from Brazil, $22.00. Fluorite Rough, $38.00. Bird’s Eye Rhyolite Cabochon, $6.00. Rough pieces in the catalog ranged from about $1 (moonstone, peridot, selenite) to $42 (Mexican fluorite).
- Catalog search on 2026-10-14: 33 “rough” items, 27 “slab” items (some are decor slabs on stands), 97 “cabochon” items and 60 “tumble” items.
- Scope caveat: this is a specimen and rock shop. It sells cutting material and finished cabochons but no lapidary machines, wheels or abrasives, and the online catalog doesn’t use the word “lapidary.” Much of the stock is minerals, crystals, fossils and decor.
- Pennsylvania already has two listings, but this is the first PA supplier.
- Photo: the shop logo from its schema markup (
