What it is
The Nebraska Mineral and Gem Club is a non-profit rock, mineral and lapidary membership club in Omaha, Nebraska. The About Us page says it promotes “geology and lapidary arts”, sponsors geology student scholarships for UNL and UNO, meets monthly to share information on rocks, minerals, gemstones, jewelry and other lapidary arts, and runs an annual rock swap and the annual Omaha Gem and Mineral Show. The club runs its own members-only lapidary workshop at 7642 Pierce Street in Omaha. It is not a public-enrollment school and not a rock shop.
Who it’s for
Rockhounds, agate hunters, cabochon cutters, faceters, silversmiths and wire wrappers in the Omaha metro who want monthly programs, show-and-tell, field trips and access to shared lapidary machines. The workshop is limited to members “due to insurance purposes”, so you must join to use it. Members can use any open machine they have been trained on.
Why it’s listed
This is the club’s own first-party Weebly site (nerockgem.org). It prints a workshop street address, published dues and shop fees, a dated 2026 calendar of meetings and events, and show dates and admission prices. It is not a scraped directory card.

Notes
- Category is Clubs: dues, monthly meetings, elections, a show and member-only shop time. The workshop classes are member benefits with no published dates or prices, so the club is not listed as a Workshop.
- First Nebraska listing on Lapidary Plaza. Away from Friday’s MS / UT / WY, Thursday’s KS / OR / OH, and the other recent club states.
- No club phone number is given. The show demonstrator and auction contacts listed on the Calendar are personal numbers and are not reproduced here. The workshop coordinator’s contact is a personal email and is not reproduced.
- The ZIP for the workshop (68124) comes from the Calendar page’s May 20 entry. The Workshop page itself prints “7642 Pierce Street Omaha, NE” without a ZIP.
- The About Us photos date from 2018–2019. The Calendar and Show pages are current for 2026. The October 21 and November 18 meetings are printed without a year (2026 is calculated).
- The site’s share image (og:image) is used for the photo, because the site has no separate logo file.
- Not affiliated with Lapidary Plaza.
- No Lapidary Plaza contact, membership, purchase, form submission or publication action was taken.
